Northwestern Memorial's Division of Nuclear Medicine uses nuclear medicine as a safe, painless method to diagnose and treat many different diseases and disorders.
We use very small amounts of radioactive tracers to provide detailed information about the structure and function of almost every organ in the body.
A special camera creates a digital computer image by tracking the tracer you'll receive during the procedure. In therapeutic procedures, specific radiopharmaceuticals you receive travel to targeted organs for treatment.
